There are many ways you can support RICE by choosing one of the following options:

One-off gift in memory of a loved one

Make a single gift to RICE to remember a loved one by either donating online or by post.

On-going donations- create a remembrance fund

Bereavement for a loved one after their death can be difficult and some people need something positive to focus on. A RICE remembrance fund is a lasting way to help remember someone special and dear to you which supports our on-going research to help find more effective treatments or a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Named after the person who has passed away, your personalised remembrance fund gives relatives, friends, neighbours and colleagues a focus for making their own individual contribution to RICE. People can make donations to the fund at any time, and it is kept open for as long as you wish it to continue. People may wish to make a single donation, a regular gift or take on a challenge (25k, 50k or 100k trek, Bath Half Marathon, colour runs, skydive etc) or arrange/participate in a fundraising event (cake sales, coffee mornings, raffles, pub quizzes, charity balls etc). Anyone can set up a RICE remembrance fund but we advise that it is done in agreement with the loved one’s family.

If you are interested in setting up a remembrance fund in the name of someone you love please refer to our Giving in Memory Leaflet 2017

Donations in lieu of flowers

You may wish to support RICE by requesting donations, in place of, or as well as flowers at funerals. Please let your funeral director know that you have chosen to support RICE in lieu of flowers.

If you are interested supporting RICE through donations in lieu of flowers please refer to our Giving in Memory Leaflet 2017

Regular giving

A regular gift in memory of your loved one can help RICE to support people with dementia. Regular income means we can plan and develop our services more effectively. To make a regular donation to RICE please contact the fundraising team: Giving in Memory Leaflet 2017

Leaving a gift in your Will

Talking about life after you have gone is one of the most difficult discussions and one that is not often spoken about. What happens to your estate after your death can make a huge difference to not just your family and friends but also to many charities. Once your family and friends have been provided for, leaving a gift in your will to RICE will last beyond your lifetime and will help us to support people with dementia and ultimately help to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
